A shared and better future for all
Ten years on from achieving the Good Friday Agreement, the situation of Northern Ireland shows some remarkable improvements. And recent paramilitary violence has only brought more unity of purpose. Leadership has been demonstrated across the political spectrum, including representatives of two constitutional opposites — Sinn Féin and the DUP.
New challenges include the need for locally elected representatives — both at the Northern Ireland Assembly as well as the upcoming reformed local District Councils — to make hard decisions about the allocation of budgets, priorities and services. Progress will have been made when such choices are made on the merits of the issue at hand, and not by politics of identity.
We wish to promote a new generation of political leaders. In addition to attracting young people, with their refreshing idealism, we also need those with longer life experiences — personal and professional — who so far have remained outside the political arena.
So, speak up and tell us your views. This site is your forum to say what you think the problems are, and what you'd rather see. From whatever vocation of life, tell us what encourages you, as well as what you'd might be able to do to make this wee place even better!
Working for a progressive and outward-looking Northern Ireland society, in a culture of tolerance and reconciliation.
